The extra popular MAIJA series is made from washed linen-cotton-tencel material. The products are woven at our own weaving mill in Lapua, Finland using Masters of Linen long staple linen yarn, grown and spun in Europe, and tencel-cotton yarn made in Europe according the ÖKO-TEX standard. Tencel is made from pure wood pulp and its entire production is Eco-Friendly. MAIJA products are adorned with the Key Flag symbol, meaning they are made here in our beautiful country of Finland. This special material which was innovated by Lapuan Kankurit is extremely absorbent, light weight and quick to dry.

Using the MAIJA products in the kitchen makes complete sense as they possess the qualities you need for the jobs they do; and an added plus to their quick dry and ultra absorbency is that they are also hygenic to use. MAIJA series showcases the prodcuts as multi-use, such as the tea towel (48x70cm) can be used as a hand towel too, or the MAIJA dishcloth (25x32cm) is suitable to be used as a cosmetic towel.

This product is made out of linen, Tencel and cotton. Flax is grown in Normandy, Europa and it is traceable 100% european Masters of Linen long staple linen yarn. Tencel is made from pulp and it is cellulose, lyocell fibre by Austrian company, Lenzing. The manufacturing process of tencel is closed and environmental friendly process. Read more www.tencel.com. All yarns are spun as well as dyed in Europe according to REACH regulations and fulfil the ÖKO-TEX certificate requirements.

Our strategy is to be responsible for the whole production from yarn to readymade products. Main part of our whole production is made in our own weaving mill in Lapua.

Product development, material purchases, programming of looms and design as well as warping, weaving, finishing and fabric inspection is done in Lapua in our own weaving mill. Sewing is mainly done in our own subsidiary sewing company in Lithuania or our own weaving mill in Lapua. Accessories come from Europe, mainly from Finland. Country of origin is Finland.
